Type of Work

• Festival Branding

• Citywide Campaign

• Sponsorship Kit

• Website Experience

• Digital Outreach

The Challenge:

Turn Juneteenth into a brand — not just an event.

Juneteenth organizers from New York City, Harlem, and Atlanta needed more than flyers and stage banners. They needed:

  • A unified brand identity that could scale across cities

  • Government-level presentation quality for funding and sponsorship

  • A digital infrastructure to handle traffic, vendors, ticketing, media, and press

  • A professional narrative that made corporations say, “We should be involved.”

Before Dante Davis Design, Juneteenth NYC was:

  • Visually inconsistent across platforms

  • Losing sponsorship because proposals looked “grassroots” instead of “government-ready”

  • Without a central digital system to manage vendors, performers, and city relations

Goal: Transform Juneteenth into a cultural brand platform capable of attracting major sponsors, national press, and city partnerships.

Our Strategy:

Brand it like Essence Festival. Execute like the Super Bowl.

We approached this like a high-profile, multi-city campaign.

Brand Identity + Visual System

We built a unified identity that could flex across multiple cities:

  • New logo lock-up with visual meaning behind every element

  • Red/black/green/gold Afro-futuristic palette

  • Typography inspired by liberation, resistance, and pride

  • Modular layout system for flyers, banners, badges, and merch

Sponsorship & Funding Assets

To secure corporate investment, we developed a boardroom-quality sponsor kit:

  • 32-page sponsorship deck (gold, black, red cultural palette)

  • Data storytelling: attendees, demographics, economic impact

  • Multi-tier sponsor levels + deliverables

  • QR-driven digital submission system

Digital Command Center (Website System)

We built a Juneteenth website that acted as the hub:

  • Performer submission portal

  • Vendor application portal

  • Sponsor inquiry intake system

  • Media download section (logos, press photos, brand kit)

Marketing Campaign

We ran a multi-layered promotional launch:

  • MiFlyer Mobile Interactive Flyers

  • SMS marketing for faster sign-ups

  • Weekly content release calendar

  • Digital ad campaign with citywide distribution

Execution:

We built a live event ecosystem — not a flyer campaign.
